Damage assessment post disaster
There may also be a call center open to receive reports of damage to aid the teams and the process. The call center phone number will appear here when it is active.
A planned damage assessment and reporting procedure is essential in case of disasters occurring to provide for effective response and recovery operations. Additionally, this process is critical to the success of cost recovery actions initiated during a state and/or presidentially declared disaster.
To complete this process, the damage assessment teams will be out in the community where there are damages due to the disaster event.
The damage assessment process consists of a series of activities designed to allow local government to develop a coordinated picture of the overall impact of an incident and to establish priorities for post-disaster recovery efforts. Safety-focused inspections of buildings, roads, and bridges are critical components of this process.
What to do with your disaster debris.
Following a disaster, debris often must be cleared to allow for emergency response activities. Guidance to residents and businesses may also be needed to facilitate the removal and disposal of debris from private property.
When a disaster necessitates debris management activities, additional information on the process and disposal locations will be available here.
More information about where to take recycling and trash can be found on the Delaware, Knox, Marion, Morrow Solid Waste District (DKMM) website.
Additional information can also be found on the Delaware Public Health District’s website.
